Aurelio De Laurentiis NapoliNapoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has strongly criticised the state of the Stadio San Paolo.

The film producer was also irritated but the mayor Luigi de Magistris’ comments that progress was being made and that is now time for the club to invest in improving their home ground.

“We play in a toilet, the council should let us play in the Stadio San Paolo for free,” said De Laurentiis to Radio Kiss Kiss.

“They cannot ask us for more than €550,000 a season in rent, CONI have already said that.”

“Our worries are the worries of the people, the fans and the poor people who got to the stadium in order to get away from the negative aspects of life.

“How can he [de Magistris] be the first citizen if he doesn’t understand that?

“I don’t understand all these ups and downs, perhaps he [de Magistris] has been misinterpreted, we hugged each other recently.

“If this isn’t sorted by October 31 then I will go and look for land to build a new stadium on.

“I just have to whistle and 100 people will gather around me to help build a winning Napoli side.”
