Feyenoord fans RomeFans of the Dutch side Feyenoord will not prosecuted for damaging the Barcaccia fountain and Piazza di Spagna in Rome before a Europa League tie against Roma.

The match at the Stadio Olimpico was played on February 19 and ended in 1-1 draw before the Giallorossi won 2-1 away in the Netherlands in a fixture that was also suspended for crowd trouble.

Italian news agency ANSA confirmed that Feyenoord fans will not be persecuted for the damages caused in Rome as the authorities were unable to identify the individuals responsible.

However, 44 fans will be processed in Rotterdam for acts of violence against the Police.

The destruction in Rome caused widespread outrage in Italy and as a result the authorities in Florence implemented extraordinary measures to restrict the sale of alcohol ahead of Fiorentina’s European tie at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
