Former Fiorentina striker Alessandro Diamanti has revealed he enjoyed his time in Florence.

The 32-year-old is now at English Premier League club Watford, and spoke today about his six months with the Viola.

Diamanti confirmed that he did not see any interest from Fiorentina in keeping him, but had a great experience in Florence.

“There wasn’t a great interest in keeping me, and that’s crucial to continue together,” he told Radio Bruno Toscana.

“I lived a great season in Florence, although it took me some time to get physically back on track after the experience in China.

“I found a great atmosphere and a great group at Fiorentina, and will follow the Viola this season.

“I don’t know what they can achieve, I don’t know the new players. It will depend on the coach and the players.

“Khouma Babacar and Federico Bernardeschi have a great future ahead, but they must work to keep it up. Youngsters today tend to work less than older players,” claimed Diamanti.

Regarding his current situation, he said: “It’s great here in England, I found a great atmosphere, and it is great to be in the Premier League.”
