Genoa full-back wants to build a relationship with fans

Cristian Ansaldi ZenitNew Genoa signing Cristian Ansaldi has spoken about his move to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, following his arrival from Zenit St. Petersburg.

The Argentine full-back spent the 2014-15 campaign on loan at Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid, however, he only managed to amount six starts for the Vicente Calderon club.

As reported by Tuttomercatoweb, Ansaldi revealed some of the reasons behind his decision to move to the Grifone.

“There were a lot of clubs interested in me,” the 28-year-old began.

“A lot of clubs spoke to my agent, but Genoa were the only club who contacted me directly,” he revealed.

“This is a great club, and I want to help make it bigger.

“I want to get along well with the fans, and to reward them for their trust in me.”

Ansaldi previously played for Newell’s Old Boys back in Argentina, before moving to Europe by signing for Rubin Kazan in 2008.
