Diego Perotti - Genoa's number 10.Genoa rejected a late approach from English club Bournemouth for Diego Perotti as the Premier League outfit made a deadline day bid for the winger.

The Cherries had already completed the major signings of Max Gradel and Glenn Murray as they set up for their first season in the English top-flight in their 125 year history, but felt a late deal for Perotti was still within reach.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bournemouth launched a €5.5 million loan bid that involved an additional €10m fee to permanently sign Perotti, with the Grifone rejecting the offer that had far surpassed the previous €9.5m bids accepted for the winger earlier in the summer.

After selling Andrea Bertolacci and Iago Falque, it had appeared that Genoa were willing to cash in on Perotti after a season at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, with Watford and Napoli circling.

However, perhaps there had been a change of heart by owner Enrico Preziosi, although the Argentine has not appeared in either of the Rossoblu’s opening Serie A fixtures.
