AC Milan with the away side in superb form after a slow start to the season.

The Rossoneri have beaten both Palermo and Udinese 3-2, after losing to Inter in the derby in round three. Milan are currently in 7th place in Serie A with nine points from five games.

The home side, meanwhile, are in terrible form having lost their last three games to Juventus, Fiorentina and Lazio. Genoa’s slump in form has seen them slide to 15th place in Serie A, outside of the relegation zone only on goal difference. Genoa have failed to score in their last 3 matches and have lost five of their last six games in Serie A.

Last season Genoa did the double over Milan with former Rossoneri defender Luca Antonelli scoring the only goal of the game at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. In the return match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Genoa beat Milan 3-1, in what was one of Filippo Inzaghi’s last games as Milan coach. Goals from Andrea Bertolacci and M’baye Niang, both now at Milan, and a late Iago Falque strike earned Genoa a famous victory.

Genoa will be without the suspended duo of Goran Pandev and Issa Cissokho, although Armando Izzo will be back in the defence after serving a suspension. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini with also have to deal with injuries to Tino Costa, Mattia Perin and Ezequiel Munoz.

For Milan, meanwhile, Juraj Kucka and Bertolacci may be sidelined against their former team as coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is expected to start with the same midfield that played against Udinese. The Rossoneri still have Jeremy Menez, Philippe Mexes, Ignazio Abate and Niang all out due to injury.
