Marquez - MexicoHellas Verona will have to make do without the talismanic striker Luca Toni and Mexican defender Rafael Marquez after the pair both picked up injuries during the Gialloblu’s 1-1 away draw with Atalanta.

The forward has one goal to his name so far at the start of the 2015-16 Serie A season and the club will be concerned to go without last season’s joint top scorer.

Verona released a statement on the club’s official website to confirm that Toni is expected to be out for two months after injuring the collateral ligaments in his left knee.

Meanwhile, Marquez is estimated to miss one month after a lesion was discovered in his abductor muscle on the right leg.

“Forza Rafa and Forza Luca, we are waiting to see you soon, we need you!” announced the Hellas Verona Facebook page as the club has to come to terms with losing two key players.

The Mastini’s first fixture without Toni and Marquez will see them travel to Milan on Wednesday in order to face Inter.
