Injured AC Milan midfielder in race against time for Milan Derby

Bertolacci AC MilanInjured AC Milan midfielder Andrea Bertolacci is hoping for a speedy recovery after picking up a knock in Italy’s 1-0 victory over Malta in Euro 2016 qualification play.

The 24-year-old played 55 minutes of action at the Stadio Artemio Franchi against Malta before coming off due to his injury concerns, and the player will now miss the next Italy match against Bulgaria in Palermo.

And with the Milan Derby set to take place in a weeks timing

“In the second half IĀ started to feel the pain more and more and that’s why I opted for a replacement,” Bertolacci told Sky Sport Italia.

“We’ll wait to see what my injury evaluation says, hopefully it’s good news.”

The midfielder made further comments on AC Milan’s crucial derby match against Inter following the international break and the uncertainty of his participation in the clash.

“I can only give so much, let’s see what the outcome will be,” he continued.

“I will be chomping at the bitĀ and will do my best to be there to play this match.”
