Ivan PerisicNew Inter signing Ivan Perisic suffered an injury while playing for Croatia in Thursday’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Azerbaijan.

The winger, who is yet to make his Nerazzurri debut, was replaced in the 83rd minute during the stalemate in Baku.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that the 26-year-old strained his quadraceps, but the Croatian medical staff consider it to be a minor issue and coach Niko Kovac could even keep Perisic in the squad for Sunday’s crucial Group H encounter with Norway.

Nevertheless, Inter coach Roberto Mancini will not want Kovak to take any risks with his player as the Beneamata prepare for the Derby Della Madonnina showdown with arch-rivals AC Milan on Sunday 13 September.

Perisic moved to the Stadio Meazza from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg for a fee of €20 million ahead of last weeks transfer deadline.
