Inter coach Roberto Mancini, Andrea Ranocchia appears to be on his way out of the club as soon as the January transfer window.

The Italian centre-back arrived from Genoa in January of 2011 and has made 161 appearances in all competitions for the Nerazzuri.

La Gazzetta della Sport report AC Milan are hoping to sign Ranocchia and see him as a possible partner alongside promising 20-year-old Alessio Romagnoli in the centre of the defence.

With Philippe Mexes rumoured to be leaving in January as well, and both Cristian Zapata and Alex ageing, Ranocchia would therefore by appealing to Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

Milan might face stiff opposition from overseas however with English clubs Tottenham and Everton in particular interested in the player.

It is thought though Ranocchia would prefer to stay in Italy if he were to leave Inter.

Fellow Inter centre-back Nemanja Vidic is also purportedly in danger of being axed from the Inter squad, though the former Manchester United man seems more likely to stay than Ranocchia.
