Inter reject Ricky Alvarez could be set for a transfer to Argentinian giants River Plate or San Lorenzo to end the ongoing saga.

The attacking midfielder was on loan at Sunderland last season and was meant to stay on with the Black Cats if they managed to avoid relegation which they ended up doing. When the season finished, Sunderland refused to pay the pre-agreed fee to the Nerazzurri which led to the Italian club appealing to FIFA to come to a suitable solution.

According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Alvarez is in Argentina and is now being chased by San Lorenzo and River Plate with the latter being very interested in the player.

The 27-year-old struggled at Sunderland mainly due to a recurring knee injury that meant he couldn’t get a consistent run of games with the North East club.

Despite this he still managed to play 13 games in the Premier League but couldn’t rack up any goals or assists.
