Italy coach demands side beat Bulgaria after Malta victory

Antonio Conte ItalyItaly coach Antonio Conte is determined to repeat their victory over Malta when they face Bulgaria on Sunday.

The Azzurri won 1-0 against Malta in their Euro 2016 qualifier at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Thursday night which means they top Group H heading into their game on Sunday night at home to Bulgaria.

“The most important thing was to win, unfortunately we didn’t create a lot of scoring chances,” Conte told reporters after the game against Malta.

“The result could have gone either way but I am happy with the desire of the players, we are at the top of the group and want to beat Bulgaria.

“We have to win on Sunday.”

The 46-year-old then talked about the state of football in other countries, saying no team is easy to beat.

“Football is evolving in more countries, there are no small sides anymore,” he said.
