Antonio Conte ItalyItaly coach Antonio Conte is expected to face trial for sporting fraud in the run-up to Euro 2016 in France.

The allegations stem back to the Azzurri coach’s time at Siena when he was accused of failing to report match-fixing after a game with Albinoleffe, previous accusations regarding a game versus Novara have been archived.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, 110 people accused of sporting fraud will be processed in February and the verdicts are expected to arrive around June.

Hosts France will kick the tournament off against an unknown opponent on June 10 at the Stade de France.

The news will disappoint FIGC chief Carlo Tavecchio and Conte who had hoped that the situation would be sorted by March or April at the latest so that it could not pose a distraction around tournament time.

Udinese coach Stefano Colantuono, Lazio’s Stefano Mauri, former Genoa midfielder Omar Milanetto and Beppe Signori have all also been accused of offences alongside the Italy coach.
