Massimiliano Allegri Masimilliano Allegri wants Juventus to put their poor start to the season behind them by winning at home to Chievo on Saturday.

The Bianconeri have lost their opening two league fixtures for the first time in their history prompting speculation that a series of changes throughout the summer transfer window may hinder their title chances, however Allegri insists the champions can get back to winning ways against league leaders Chievo on Saturday.

“Against Chievo it will be a fresh start, we currently have no points but there are still many to play for,” Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.

“A transition year? No, we are Juventus, but it is normal for new players to take time to settle.

“I just think positive and do not see why we should do otherwise, we have all the potential to do well.”

The Juventus coach also commented on the team’s notable absentees during their opening defeats and has also insisted that his side’s rivals have all strengthened.

“Our absences affected us because we haven’t got a point, otherwise they wouldn’t have weighed so heavily,” said the 48-year-old.

“Besides Claudio Marchisio, we now have [Mario] Lemina and Hernanes available, but [Sami] Khedira remains out.

“The Milan derby? We’ll see two teams that are aspiring to win the title and are already demonstrating they can fight at the top.”
