Juventus defender Daniele Rugani has praised Italy U-21’s 1-0 win against Slovenia U-21’s.
The Azzurri needed to get off to a good start in their U-21 Euro 2017 qualifying campaign as the Slovenians had already won their opening two games.
“We are really happy for the result.” said Rugani told reporters during his post-match interview.
“We got the three points in a game that was not as simple as it seemed, because our opponents played very deep.
“It was important to get points early on, last year qualifying was quite difficult, we wanted to start well and we did.”
The Italian defender is highly-rated by many observers of Serie A following an impressive loan spell at Empoli, where he played under new Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri.
