Inter - KondogbiaNew Inter midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia has admitted the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza club were tracking him since his time at La Liga side Sevilla.

The 22-year-old former Lens midfielder joined the Milanese giants for €35 million from Monaco in July, where he had spent the last two seasons after joining from Los Rojiblancos in 2013.

“I was contacted by Inter when I was in Spain, they were following me when I was playing for Sevilla,” Kondogbia told RTL.

“Then last winter they kept tracking my progress at Monaco.

“I was very happy to join such a great club, even though we are not in the Champions League yet.

“I was presented with a project at Inter that is very important.

“There was contacts with AC Milan, it is true, but what made the difference was the speech that the coach [Roberto Mancini] gave me.

“The presentation I had with the Inter fans was amazing, it really made me feel very happy to live that moment to see all those people meet and greet me, they were very warm.”
