koulibaly napoliBruno Satin, agent of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, has revealed that his client still has a place at Napoli following rumours of his departure from the club.

The 24-year-old had been steadily linked with an exit from the Partenopei throughout the summer, as teams including Southampton and Norwich City were apparently interested in signing him, though his agent insists that Azzurri sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has always reassured the former Genk man of his position in Naples.

Satin spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss about Koulibaly’s current situation at Napoli and commented on the defender’s choice to play for the Senegal national team rather than wait for a France call up.

“Koulibaly had waited a long time to earn a call to the French team, but since he has still not been considered to play, he has decided to accept the call from Senegal,” said the agent.

“He believes that France coach Didier Deschamps has still not considered contacting him, which is why he made this decision.

“Napoli? For so many weeks we had talked about possible new purchases in the defence and Kalidou had thought that coach Maurizio Sarri didn’t favour him.

“However, Giuntoli had always reassured us of his place at Napoli and said that the club would have only considered very big offers for him.”
