Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti is set to sign a three-year contact extension with the Roman club.
The 32-year-old is expected to return from an injury lay-off in time for the Biancocelesti’s next Serie A match against Udinese on September 13, and will be hoping to reclaim the No.1 position from Etrit Berisha.
The shot-stopper’s contract is due to expire at the end of this season, but La Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that the new agreement will see the Italian international remain at the Stadio Olimpico until 2019.
Agent Beppe Bozzo and Lazio president Claudio Lotito are reportedly finalising the finer details of the contract, but both camps are confident of concluding the deal soon.
Marchetti has made over 140 appearances in all competitions for the Aquile and was part of the side that won the Coppa Italia in the 2012-13 season.
