Alessandro Nesta has praised Lazio despite his former side failing to qualify for Champions League football.
The former Lazio captain believes the Biancocelesti have a good coach in the form of Stefano Pioli and that they are a team boasting great players, while the 39-year-old firmly believes that Juventus are still favourites for a fifth Serie A title in a row.
“The shock elimination in the Champions League is felt, after a great season, being out after two matches is devastating but Lazio has good players and a great coach in Pioli.” Nesta told Corriere dello Sport.
“Scudetto? The favourite is still Juventus.” he added
Nesta featured a total of 193 times for Lazio where he won a host of trophies and captained the side to a memorable Scudetto in the 1999–2000 season.
