Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia is willing to extend his contract with the club, should the capital side come up with an acceptable offer.

There had been rumours of the player moving elsewhere during the recently closed transfer window, but with the player’s immediate future solved, he is keen to lock down his long-term prospects with one of last season’s surprise packages.

The Argentine will put pen-to-paper on a contract which meets his €3 million per year demands, Il Tempo report.

Lazio’s current offer stands at €2 million, some way off the anchor man’s desired amount.

The Biancocelesti ideally want to pay him a similar salary to that earned by Miroslav Klose and Antonio Candreva, who both reportedly earn a figure closer to Lazio’s original offer.

Biglia featured in 27 Serie A matches for Lazio last season, one more than his previous debut season for the club.
