Napoli full-back Christian Maggio has told fans that getting on the players backs will not improve results.
New Partenopei coach Maurizio Sarri has faced criticism from fans for not getting a win in either of the Ciucciarelli’s first two games against Sassuolo and against Sampdoria respectively.
“I put myself in the shoes of the fans who always want to win and when things are not going well I’m not happy.” said Maggio to Radio Kiss Kiss.
“But I want to tell the fans to stay close to the team because we need them, and not to be critical when things are not going well.
“We aim to give our best and they need to understand that.”
Maggio has started in each of Napoli’s Serie A games so far this season.
