Pietro GhedinMalta coach Pietro Ghedin is annoyed at the goal his side conceded against Italy.

A Graziano Pelle header, which in hindsight looks to be handball, was the difference between them and the Azzurri on Thursday night during their Euro 2016 qualifier, and coach Ghedin has said it was a frustrating goal to concede.

“It was a bad goal to concede, Pelle was by himself,” the 62-year-old told reporters after the match.

“[Goalkeeper Andrew] Hogg came out at the wrong time.

“Obviously we are bitter because we lost, but Italy deserved to win, they are a team with great charisma.”

Malta are bottom of Group H with just one point, while the victory for Italy means they are now in first place, one point above Croatia who drew against Azerbaijan earlier on Thursday.
