montolivoAC Milan midfielder and captain Riccardo Montolivo believes that the Rossoneri are on the right track but that they must keep working hard to be consistent.

Montolivo was speaking after Milan’s 3-2 win over Udinese in which the Diavolo survived a second-half comeback from the Zebrette.

“We needed an away win, we need continuity.” Said Montolivo to Milan Channel.

“The difficulties of the second half were due to Udinese’s change of formation, we were too slow to respond,” the midfielder added.

“The assist to [Giacomo] Bonaventura? We work a lot on the attack, it is the movement that makes it more difficult for opposing defences.

“He’s an important player and he has quality, he can also play in different roles. He is a very reliable player.”

Montolivo then talked about the performances of full-back Davide Calabria and Nigel De Jong.

“Calabria is very confident on the field, for one so young it is a very important thing. However, you have to give him time because he will make mistakes.

“De Jong and I played a good game together, Nigel is very important to us. There are good signals from all the players.

“The goal now is to go to Genoa and win and give continuity. It will not be easy, but our goal is always to win.”
