Lodi – Catania

Palermo sporting director Manule Gerolin has said the Sicilian side were never interested in signing former Catania midfielder Francesco Lodi.

The Italian is a free agent after his contract with the Elefanti expired in the summer and it had been rumoured that the Rosanero were keen to acquire him on deadline day.

“Lodi was not a goal. The team is complete.” said Gerolin when he was asked about the reported interest by Palermo24.net.

“I deny categorically this market hypothesis”

Lodi spent last season on loan at Parma and has also had spells with the likes of Frosinone, Udinese and Genoa.

He has also played for every Italian age group up to the Italy U-21’s. He started his career at Empoli and made 89 appearances for the Azzurri.
