david villa pirloItalian international and New York City FC midfielder Andrea Pirlo is one of the less well paid stars in MLS.

The 36-year-old moved to New York in July 2015 to become the new club’s third designated player.

According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Pirlo earns €1.8 million per season with New York while the former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard makes €5.5m a year with LA Galaxy.

The playmaker also earns less than New England Revolution’s American international Jermaine Jones who brings in €2.5m every season.

Pirlo has made nine starts for New York and picked up two assists as the newly established side sit in eighth place in the Western Conference during their inaugural season.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Robbie Keane also earns more than Pirlo while the ex-AC Milan midfielder Kaka is the league’s best paid player at Orlando City.
