Mino Raiola, agent of Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has revealed that his client was proud to have been pursued by former club AC Milan this summer despite rumours claiming otherwise.

The 33-year-old, who played for the Diavolo from 2010-12, recently confirmed that the Rossoneri had desperately tried to bring him back to the Serie A in recent months, leading many to believe that the he was taking a shot at his former team, though his agent insists that the star forward was mistranslated and was actually impressed by the Stadio Meazza outfit’s efforts to land him.

Raiola spoke to ACMilan.it about Ibra’s comments regarding Milan’s pursuit of him and cleared up all negative claims aimed at the PSG forward.

“When Zlatan said that AC Milan were trying desperately to sign him, he meant it in the sense of their intensity,” said the agent.

“He clearly meant it with a positive meaning, not negative. He has never dreamed of labelling Milan in such a way.

“He cares about the club so much that he further reinforced the meaning of his thoughts, but it was mostly ignored by the press and not reported in Italy, unfortunately, and I hope it wasn’t deliberately.

“Zlatan in fact added that he was proud that Milan were interested in him. It means that he’s still an important player because Milan, always in the words of Zlatan, are a top level club.”
