Former Juventus striker Fabrizio Ravanelli says the Bianconeri, along with Roma, are still the teams for the rest of Serie A to beat this season.

The Perugia-born forward represented the Old Lady for four years between 1992 and 1996 and helped the club lift the Champions League in 1996, making 160 appearances, while scoring 68 goals during his spell in Turin.

“Juventus are playing badly at the moment, but have the potential to recover in the match against Chievo on Saturday,” Ravanelli told TuttoMercatoWeb.com.

“They are not a club that panic in these situations.

“Although the start has never being so black, losing the first two games is not usual for Juventus.

“Unfortunately, the team has not hit its true potential yet and have missed Claudio Marchisio, and there are other extenuating circumstances.

“Of course they must return to winning ways but with the knowledge of having to work again and again.”

The former Marseille striker was asked to comment about the Bianconeri’s moves in the summer transfer market and who can challenge his former side for the Scudetto.

“It’s not easy to make judgements about it”, he added.

“I think Juventus have worked to take good players like Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Sami Khedira, although they failed to sign Julian Draxler.

“But they have what it takes to win the league again this season.

“Together with Roma they are the sides for the rest to beat.”
