Roma defender Leandro Castan has admitted that his performances must continue to improve, after making his comeback from injury.

The Brazilian featured in the Giallorossi’s Serie A opener against Hellas Verona after experiencing a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a brain injury last term, and after missing the most recent fixture against Juventus he has acknowledged that he must continue his recovery.

“I have to improve much more, but I’ll never quit, I only work!” the 28-year-old roared on his official Twitter profile.

Roma have claimed four points from their opening two league fixtures, having risen above Juventus’ challenge last week to register a victory.

At the turn of the year, Castan was relearning how to walk unaided after surgery to relieve increasing pressure on his brain, and his return to football so soon is seen as remarkable.

Roma are next in action away at Frosinone once the international break comes to a close.
