Roma teenager Kevin Mendez is ready to take the step up, as he will join the senior team at their next training session.

The young Uruguayan transferred to Roma from his native Penarol in January, in a deal that saw him immediately sent out on a two year loan deal to Perugia, which was then cut short.

“Already moved into a hotel in Rome with my old man. Everything OK. Tomorrow morning I start training. Come on! I’m very happy”, Mendez announced on his Twitter page.

The 19-year-old boasts great promise for the future having already played for Penarol, one of the best teams in the Uruguayan league who last year finished a healthy second place.

On top of this, the young talent has made a number of youth appearances for the Uruguayan national team, including eight appearances and one goal at U20 level.
