The visitors got off to a flying start as Alessandro Sbaffo was on hand to guide in a rebound into the bottom corner inside in the first minute.

But before the tenth minute, Vicenza were back on level terms. Filip Raicevic glided into the box and glanced his header into the far bottom corner.

Federico Gerardi put Como back in front on the quarter of an hour mark in what was a quick start to the match. The forward’s shot from a tight angle went through the keeper who should have done better.

Little less than ten minutes later, the hosts were level once again. After a ball over the top, Cristian Galano scrambled the ball over the line.

It then took until until the 83rd minute for the next goal and it was Vicenza who took the lead for the first time in the match. After a good save from the goalkeeper, Stefano Giacomelli fired into the empty net.

It wasn’t over there though as two minutes later, Daniel Bessa’s effort was deflected over the keeper and it was 3-3. The scorer of the first goal, Sbaffo, was sent off in injury time for handball but Como held out for a point.

Elsewhere, Cagliari kept their unbeaten start to the season after defeating Avellino 2-1. Marco Sau and Federico Melchiorri put the hosts 2-0 up but Avellino pulled one back through Mariano Arini but it wasn’t enough.

Cesena moved up to third place following a 3-1 away win at Ascoli. Following a scoreless first half, the Cavallucci Marini went three goals to the good thanks to a strike from Camilo Ciano and a brace from Antonino Ragusa.

Ascoli grabbed a consolation in the closing moments through Andrea Petagna to restore a bit of order.

Newly promoted Salernitana fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Spezia after goals in each half from Josip Brezovec and Andrea Catellani settled the match.

Pro Vercelli salvaged a late point against Latina thanks to a 93rd minute goal from Luca Castiglia after the visitors took the lead through Nicolao Dimitru.

Trapani and Virtus Lanciano also ended with a point apiece following a 1-1 draw. Trapani took the lead in the first half through Gennaro Scognamiglio but Latina equalised with ten minutes left as Eric Lanini netted.

Novara snatched a 1-0 win at home to Virtus Entella as Jacopo Manconi scored on the hour mark.

In other matches there were also two stalemates in the games between Perugia and Crotone, where the latter had ten men and also in the game between Bari and Pescara.
