Bologna following his loan deal from Premier League club Sunderland.

The former Juventus midfielder is excited to be in Serie A but is happy he moved to England to experience a different style of football.

“I’m back in Italy with great enthusiasm, I’m happy to be back.” Giaccherini told reporters at his presentation at Bologna.

“I have a lot of desire to get back to my best and to give my all for Bologna.

“I immediately said yes to this move, as this is a very historic club that has won so much and now has big ambitions.

“The experience in England was wonderful, I’d do it all over again.

“I developed well as a player there because the football is completely different to Italian football.

“The football system in England is perfect, in my opinion.”

The 30-year-old midfielder then admitted that he hopes to return to the Italy national team in the near future.

“Of course, I still think about the national team, every player aspires to play for their country.”

“But right now, the most important thing is to do well here.

“Physically I’m fine, I just need to work hard and play, I have a lot of desire to do well.

“I hope to be an important player for this team.

“I have a lot of experience on the field, as do many of my teammates.

“There’s also some young players in this group, so we must lead by example and take responsibility.

“Many fans have already come to welcome me, I was very pleased. I reiterated to them that I will do everything for this team.”
