New Inter full-back Alex Telles has claimed that he wants to make history with the club.

The Nerazzurri signed the Brazilian from Galatasaray on transfer deadline day to fill a problem position for Roberto Mancini, who appears to feel that Yuto Nagatomo is not first-team quality.

“I am very happy to be at Inter.” said Telles at his official unveiling.

“The confidence in me from Mancini was critical in my decision to come and play for this club.

“I am a defender who knows the importance of marking and positioning. I’m also good at crossing and making assists.

“In Italy the defensive aspect of the game is important and I want to improve, without forgetting my attacking qualities.

“I’m fine physically, with Galatasaray I did all of pre-season.

“If Mancini needs me in the derby [September 13] then I’m available.”

The Brazilian was then asked why he chose the No.12 shirt and what the expectations are that he will have to meet at a club like Inter.

“Usually I like the No.13, but it was not available. So I chose No.12 and I hope to make history with this shirt,” added Telles.

“At 22-years-old I have arrived at a big club like this and it is proof that I worked well, but also that I cannot stop here. I want to improve even more.

“I’m a bit like Marcelo of Real Madrid. He has already achieved great goals with both his club and the national team. I hope to follow in his footsteps.”

Finally, the left-back spoke about his former Galatasaray team-mate Felipe Melo, who has also joined the Nerazzurri.

“He’s a player of great experience who has already achieved many victories. Plus he’s a Brazilian international and he can be of use to any team,” Telles summed up.
