Torino striker expected to sign contract extension

Torino striker Maxi Lopez is reportedly close to signing a contract extension with the Turin side after impressing since his arrival last season.

The 31-year-old, whose current deal with the Granata is set to expire in June 2016, has been a positive addition to Giampiero Ventura’s squad since joining the team from Chievo in January and it seems like the club is ready to build a long-term relationship with him.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Fernando Cosentino, agent of the Argentine forward, is expected to meet with Torino executives in the coming days in order to discuss terms including the player’s pay and the length of his new contract.

Lopez is yet to score a goal and has provided one assist in his five Serie A appearances this term thus far, but scored eight goals in his 18 league appearances for Il Toro during the second half of the 2014/15 campaign.
