Trezeguet: Buffon is the most symbolic Juventus player

Trezeguet BuffonFormer Juventus striker David Trezeguet has stated that Bianconeri captain Gianluigi Buffon is the most symbolic player to have played for the club.

The former French international spent ten years with the Old Lady from 2000-2010 and has since discussed these ‘golden years’, as well as praising his former teammate Buffon of whom he holds in deep regard.

“I had the fortune to play with some people who made footballing history in Italy,” said Trezeguet to Tuttomercatoweb.com

“I spent three golden years with the likes of Pavel Nedved, Fabio Cannavaro, Zinedine Zidane and Alessandro Del Piero. The Juve of today now have Paul Pogba.”

He continued: “The most emblematic player at Juventus is Gianluigi Buffon.”

“I respect him a lot.

“As for the best player I played with, it is far too difficult to give an answer.”

During his highly decorated career as a Juventus player, Trezeguet made 245 appearances and scored an impressive 171 goals.
