AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati says the Rossoneri will turn their fortunes around this season, but they must show more personality and courage in their performances.

The Diavolo have already lost five games this season under their new coach Sinisa Mihajlovic but the veteran goalkeeper believes Milan have a strong squad and can still have a successful season.

“I see my teammates give their best on the pitch and the coach is very prepared,” the 38-year-old told Milan Channel.

“We can have a good season in my opinion, perhaps we are not yet at 100 per cent and can’t do everything Mihajlovic is asking of us.

“This isn’t good enough, we have to play with more personality and courage.”

Abbiati also says he has huge respect for the club’s other goalkeepers Diego Lopez and Gianluigi Donnarumma despite competing with them for a place in the starting team.

“Among goalkeepers we are all friends, there is a lot of harmony among us,” continued Abbiati.

“Lopez is the number one whilst Donnarumma is very young but has great quality.

“We’re also living together, he’s like my godson.”
