CQgBg0TWoAIF1iJAC Milan were hammered by Napoli 4-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday night in Serie A, condemning the Rossoneri to a second consecutive defeat.

Allan struck the game’s first goal with a near post finish early on before Lorenzo Insigne doubled Napoli’s lead at the start of the second-half. The Italian completed his brace with a wonderful free-kick soon after prior to an own goal from Rodrigo Ely.

The Rossoneri began the better of the two foes, with the lively Slovakian Juraj Kucka mishitting a shot prior to the quarter of the hour mark.

Right on cue Napoli capitalised on a poor defensive error from Cristian Zapata. The Colombian failed to clear the ball properly before the ball found its way to Insigne, who in turn picked out Allan to strike home smartly past Diego Lopez.

The home side came back strong, with Giacomo Bonaventura and Luis Adriano coming close to drawing level, but failed to apply the finishing touch to either move.

The first-half closed out leaving Sinisa Mihajlovic with a conundrum of how to break the Naples backline, having failed to register a shot on target in the opening 45 minutes.

Maurizio Sarri had clearly kept his players’ morale up, with the Partenopei doubling their lead right after the restart. Insigne turned goalscorer from provider this time, latching onto a smart one-two with Gonzalo Higuain to double the away side’s lead with a deft finish.

Two became three with over 20 minutes to go, when Insigne again was the man of the moment, curling home a sumptuous free-kick that Lopez could only parry into the net.

The final nail in the coffin came when Ely steered the ball into his own goal after a low-driven cross from Faouzi Ghoulam.

The end result sent Napoli up to sixth in the Serie A standings.
