Chievo v AC MilanAC Milan play host to Chievo at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday evening in Serie A.

This particular fixture is expected to be decisive for both the teams, as only one point separates them in mid-table with Chievo in 11th place on 12 points and Milan occupying tenth with 13 points.

The Rossoneri ended their three match winless run in Serie A last weekend following a 2-1 win at home against Sassuolo. The game looked to be heading towards a draw before Milan centre forward Luis Adriano snatched a late winner, relieving considerble pressure off Milan boss Sinisa Mihajlovic

The away side, on the other hand, despite an impressive start to the campaign that saw them go undefeated in the first three league matches, have stumbled in recent games. And the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Napoli in the last round, only further compounded their problems, as Rolando Maran’s side are now four games without a victory.

Last season, this clash saw the Rossoneri emerge 2-0 winners as Sulley Muntari and Keisuke Honda netted in the second half. It will be interesting to see who Mihajlovic prefers to start upfront – either Carlos Bacca or Luis Adriano – given that both of them have settled in at the club and also scored in the last round.

Maran, however, will have other concerns. His side is yet to keep a clean sheet in Serie A since their 1-0 win against Torino on September 24th. Even from an attacking perspective the goals have dried up, as club top scorer Alberto Paloschi has now netted only once in seven previous league outings.

The Flying Donkeys will be without Nicola Rigoni due to injury while Dario Dainelli, Valter Birsa and Simone Pepe are doubtful for the clash. For the home team, Jeremy Menez, Mario Balotelli, Andrea Bertolacci and M’Baye Niang have been ruled out whereas Keisuke Honda, Cristian Zapata, Alex and Poli have suffered slight niggles.
