Inter winger Jonathan Biabiany says that he never expected to be ready to make his full Inter return after being absent with a heart condition.

The Frenchman was diagnosed with cardiac dysrhythmia in September of last year, and despite making a return to training at former club Parma in February this year, terminated his contract with the defunct side in April which paved the way for his eventual move to the Nerazzurri.

“Today it was important to get the minutes into my legs, I played 90 minutes,” said Biabiany to the press after Inter’s friendly loss against Swiss outfit Chiasso.

“I was a little tired at the end, but I’m fine,” he admitted.

“To be ready to play, quite frankly, I didn’t expect that.

“But I’m happy to be back as I worked hard.”

Roberto Mancini’s men host stuttering champions Juventus next week, having recently lost their perch atop the Serie A table themselves, and Biabiany is wary of the importance as Inter look to avoid making it a month without a win.

“Juventus will be a crucial match for us.

“The race for the championship is long, but this is a game where you can do well and start to improve.”
