Bologna coach Delio Rossi is holding onto his post by a thread, with defeat against Palermo almost certain to see him sacked.

The Rossoblu have endured a torrid start to the season, claiming just three points from their first six games.

The Corriere di Bologna report that should the Rossoblu fail to beat Rossi’s former club on Sunday lunchtime, he will be moved on as the Serie A newcomers look to stave off relegation.

Despite a number of new players joining the club over the summer, notably Mattia Destro, Rossi has not been able to stamp his authority on the side and has enjoyed just a solitary win against Frosinone.

Rossi took the reins at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara as recently as May and managed to guide Bologna to Serie A through the playoffs.
