Retired midfielder David Beckham has tipped his former club AC Milan to claim Champions League glory this season.

The 40-year-old, who has featured over 100 times in Europe’s premier club competition, featured for the Rossoneri in 2009 and 2010 when on loan from Major League Soccer outfit LA Galaxy.

And the now retired star incredibly tipped Milan to win the competition despite the fact that Mihajlovic’s men failed to qualify this season after finishing in 10th pace last term.

“Who do I want to win is a different story to who I think is going to win… or maybe it’s not actually!” Beckham told Sport 360.

“I’m going to have to say Manchester United, PSG and AC Milan.

“One of those three I’d like to see win but when you’re in the Champions League, you realise how important this competition is in football and it’s one of the best competitions to actually play in and definitely to win.”

Beckham also took some time out to praise Juventus striker Alvaro Morata and has tipped Italy international Marco Verratti for big things.

“I think [Alvaro] Morata is an exciting player and [Marco] Verratti for PSG. I played with him, he’s such a great, talented player.”
