Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday.

The Nerazzurri slipped further behind league leaders Fiorentina, but Santon feels that his side have earned a decent point at a difficult ground which sets them up well for their next match against Juventus.

“We wanted to win, even though we knew it would be difficult to achieve out there on the pitch,” Santon told Mediaset Premium.

“We started poorly in the second half and immediately conceded to a [Luis] Muriel goal, but we reacted well and earned a good point.

“Criticism? It’s always going to happen regardless of whether we’re winning or losing, we’ve got to keep working and think ahead to the Juventus game.

“It’ll be a tough match as they’re winning games in the Champions League and have a lot of confidence, but so do we.”
