Luigi Di Biagio ItalyItaly U21 coach Luigi Di Biagio says the side must improve despite the victory over Slovenia U21.

The Azzurrini won 3-0 on Thursday night in their Euro U21 2017 qualifier, but coach Di Biagio still wants more from the team.

“We played very similar to the first game,” the 44-year-old told reporters after the game in Slovenia.

“We are not even close to what I want, but it is an important result.”

He then looked ahead to Italy’s next fixture against Ireland on Tuesday night.

“The game against Ireland will be hard, they do not give up and have physicality as their best weapon,” he said.

“We’ll have to be faster.”

Italy sit fourth in Group 2 after their victory while Slovenia are second, although the top four teams are all equal on six points.
