Felipe Anderson: I’ve always done my best for Lazio

Felipe Anderson - Lazio's new number 10.Lazio winger Felipe Anderson has revealed that he’s always done his best for the Aquilotti and will continue doing so in order please the fans and the club.

The 22-year-old had come under fire in the opening weeks of the 2015-16 Serie A campaign due to his struggles with form but has since been able to show much improvement and he admits that he’s developed a certain confidence over time thanks to the team’s faith in him and his love for the Biancocelesti.

Anderson spoke to Lega di Serie A about his time at Lazio and his lasting desire to do well for the club, while also commenting on what it felt like to score his first league goal for the club last season.

“I really wanted to come to Lazio all the way up until my arrival,” said the Brazil international, who has scored one goal and provided one assist in his seven Serie A appearances this term thus far.

“I was immediately able to identify with this the team, the fans and my team-mates, who were all willing to help me even in my difficult times.

“I’d do my best in every workout in order to bring joy to the fans. I was injured when I arrived, but I wanted to heal immediately so I could play and improve.

“My move to Lazio could’ve happened sooner than it did, even all of the fans were even telling me to come to Rome.

“Unfortunately things didn’t go as I wanted during my first season, but still all of my team-mates and those around me had shown faith in me. This really allowed me to work in peace and get to where I am now.

“My first league goal for the club? It was a very special day for me. I had always watched the Serie A as a child. I will never forget it and I will tell all of my friends and children about it in the future.

“When things start to go the way you want and you begin to reap the fruits of your labour, you’re able to take weight off of your shoulders and work with a lot more confidence.”
