Kalinic FiorentinaFiorentina are currently searching for defensive reinforcements and have already shortlisted a few names to add to their squad during the winter transfer window.

The Viola currently sit at the top of the Serie A table, having collected 18 points from seven league matches and they have only conceded an impressive four times.

But according to La Nazione newspaper, coach Paulo Sousa wants to improve their defence even more and he has identified Philippe Mexes of AC Milan, Luca Rossettini of Bologna and Lisandro Lopez of Benfica as potential additions.

The main target appears to be the 26-year-old Lopez, who has been at Benfica since 2013.

The Argentine has struggled for playing time at the Portuguese outfit, having only made 14 official appearances for the club although his club will reportedly demand a fee of around €5m before allowing the Argentine to leave.

Fiorentina would only be willing to sign the 30-year-old Rossettini on a loan deal as a low cost option.

Things seem to be fairly straightforward for the 33-year-old Mexes who was reportedly close to joining Fiorentina this past summer.

In a surprise twist, the Frenchman ended up remaining at Milan, where he signed a one-year extension.

However, the player is not keen to work with current boss Sinisa Mihajlovic and will reportedly be allowed to leave on a free transfer this winter to finally join the Gigliati.
