Mexes - AC MilanFiorentina are reportedly interested in AC Milan‘s Philippe Mexes and Bologna‘s Luca Rossettini in a bid to strengthen their defence to boost their title hopes.

La Viola are top of the Serie A table heading into the weekend thanks to their 4-1 demolition of Inter last Sunday.

According to La Nazione, the Rossoneri will finally allow Mexes to leave, but Paolo Sousa’s side will have fight on their hands to prise Rossettini away from Bolognna.

The Italian centre-back only joined the newly promoted Rossoblu from Cagliari this summer and thus the club would be reluctant to part with him so soon whilst the deal is further complicated by the scuttling of Fiorentina midfielder Josep Ilicic’s move to Bologna in July, a drama that has reportedly complicated relations between the two clubs.

Mexes has yet to make an appearance for Sinisa Mihajlovic’s Milan side this season despite how hard club owner Silvio Berlusconi fought to keep him at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium.

The French international has been with Milan since 2011, making 81 appearances before the arrival of Alessio Romagnoli removed him from first team contention.

One or both players could initially join Fiorentina on loan agreements, though Bologna might be willing to part with their centre-back for €3.5 million.
