AC Milan.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss spent eight years at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, winning two Champions League titles but he has insisted he is not ready to go back to the club just yet.

“I would have liked to return to Milan, but as I said on numerous occasions, I need a break,” Ancelotti told Milan Channel.

“There was a possibility I could have come back in the summer.

“We met, we discussed it, but at the end of the day it was my decision.

“Adriano Galliani put a lot of pressure on me in order to convince me to return, but in my head I had decided I was taking a year off.

“I did not want to come back to Milan without being at the top of my game.

“Galliani understood my decision, although I hated saying no to Milan.”

Ancelotti then went onto speak about current coach Sinisa Mihajlovic and the job he is doing at the Rossoneri.

“I really like Mihajlovic, his approach, what he says and his character,” Ancelotti added.

“He is a coach who will do very well at Milan, I am sure of this.

“At the moment the squad has some problems that need to be resolved.

“Milan must try to find their identity. They have signed some very good players, like Carlos Bacca, Luiz Adriano and some youngsters who did well last season.

“I would wait before saying Milan did not buy good players, as it requires patience for players to gel.

“[Carlos] Bacca did very well at Sevilla.

“I like him a lot and he reminds me of Filippo Inzaghi, because he is good at attacking the space and playing off the shoulder of the opposition defenders.

“I though about buying him when I was at Real Madrid.”
