Diego Lopez - AC MilanAC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani says Diego Lopez must respect coach Sinisa Mihajlovic’s decisions after the Rossoneri goalkeeper lost his place in the team to Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The Diavolo defeated Sassuolo 2-1 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday as 16-year-old Donnarumma made history by becoming the youngest goalkeeper ever to play in a Serie A match.

“The role of a goalkeeper is no different to any other,” Galliani told Milan Channel.

“We have three goalkeepers and I believe the coach has the right to play the goalkeeper who he believes is in the best condition.

“Full credit to Diego Lopez, I understand he may be a little bitter, but he must respect the choice of the coach.”

Milan’s win over the Neroverdi was their first in four Serie A games and moves them to 10th in the league table.
