Inter forward Stevan Jovetic has praised Palermo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino’s performance during the two side’s 1-1 draw on Saturday evening.

The 25-year-old Montenegro international starred for the majority of the match though was unable to break Palermo’s Sorrentino, who was in fine form throughout the game and saved his side with an instinctive save in the final minutes.

“I’m sorry [for the result] because we played a good game,” Jovetic told Inter Channel after the draw.

“We had the best chances throughout the game, but we conceded the equaliser and then we were down to ten men.

“However, their goalkeeper was just miraculous. We tried, but it was not enough.

“I’m happy for the assist, but otherwise I’m sorry for how the match went.

Jovetic then went on to address his fitness having picked up an injury just a few weeks ago, and insists he is in good shape.

“Physically I’m fine, today I ran a lot much like the last game,” he continued.

“I will try to rest and be ready for the next game.

“I’d rather play in front of goal more, but if we are in trouble then I can run back to help.”
