Inter striker Stevan Jovetic has revealed that he immediately accepted the opportunity to join the Biscione as he feels the Italian side are one of the best teams in the world.

The 25-year-old, who arrived at the Nerazzurri from Manchester City over the summer, has scored three goals in his seven Serie A appearances this term thus far and he admits that he would like to become part of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza outfit’s decorated history by hopefully helping them win a trophy this season.

Jovetic spoke to Inter Channel about why he made the decision to sign with Inter and commented on the club’s goals for the 2015-16 campaign.

“Inter had apparently wanted me for awhile, but this year their interest became more intense,” said the Montenegro international.

“I had received calls from coach Roberto Mancini and [sporting director] Piero Ausilio. They explained the project to me and I immediately accepted the offer to join Inter.

“Our goal this season is to get back into the Champions League, where Inter deserve to be. If we’re in good shape in April, then we’ll also try to win the Scudetto.

“Inter are one of the best seven or eight teams in the world, I know the club’s history and I want to be part of it. I was immediately able to notice that Inter was something special upon my arrival.

“I had spoken to Nemanja Vidic and Dejan Stankovic and they both told me about the type of historical team this was, which I can now confirm.”
