Juventus are renewing their interest in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, and will likely compete with the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United for the German international.

Juventus first became linked with the 24-year old during the summer, as their pursuit of fellow German Julian Draxler came to nothing.

It is reported by Sky Sport that during the summer Juventus was looking to spend around €20 million for the German and are still hopeful of doing a deal with Dortmund for the midfielder.

Gundogan sustained a back injury, which ruled him out of last year’s German World Cup winning squad, as well as most of the Bundesliga season, where Dortmund finished in a disappointing seventh place.

While Gundogan was initially expected to depart from the Signal Iduna Park during the summer transfer window, his contract with the German club was extended, and is not set to expire until 2017.
